Applying Natural Fertilizer
Worm Casting Application Methods
*Potting: Mix castings into soil in a ratio of 1:3 (1 part castings to 3 parts soil)
.*New Gardens:
Mix one pound of castings into 20 square feet of garden space. Works for raised and in-ground gardens, as well as vegetable gardens. OR
Alternately you can sprinkle worm castings into the hole when planting.
*Established Gardens: Sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons around plant or within a tree's dripline and gently rake into topsoil. Repeat every 3-4 weeks throughout the growing season.
*Seed Starting: Mix 1 part castings to 4 parts sand, coconut coir, or desired potting medium. Should feed seedlings for approximately 3 months.
*Widespread Use: Use a fertilizer spreader to sprinkle castings onto lawn.
*Worm Tea: Mix 1 cup of castings with a gallon of water. Let sit for a week. Use to water your plants and/or as a foliate leaf spray. Use this mixture to water every 2 weeks.

Mealworm Frass Application Methods
*Potting: Mix 1 cup of frass per cubic foot of soil.
*New Gardens: Mix one pound of frass into 20 square feet of garden space. Works for raised and in-ground gardens, as well as vegetable gardens.
*Established Gardens: Sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons around plant or within a tree's dripline and water. Repeat every 3-4 weeks throughout the growing season.
*Widespread Use: Use a fertilizer spreader to sprinkle frass onto lawn and then water.
*Frass Tea: Per gallon of water add 1 cup of frass. Mix well and let sit 10-15 minutes. Water immediately, do not store at room temperature. Can be refrigerated for up to a week. Use this mixture to water every 2 weeks.

Rabbit Manure Application Methods
*Potting: Add a thin layer of rabbit manure just below the root ball.
*New Gardens: Mix into top layer of soil; or sprinkle as a top dressing; or bury when planting.
*Established Gardens: Place pellets around the base of the plant. Can also be used as mulch in large quantities.
*Bunny Brew: Put 1 lb of pellets into a 5 gallon bucket. Fill with water. Leave in the sunshine for about 3 days, stirring daily. Strain through burlap or similar material and hold solids over bucket until they stop dripping. Solids are still beneficial additives. Dilute 1 cup of bunny brew into 1 gallon of water and water plants. Repeat every 1-2 weeks.
*Composting: Add desired quantity of rabbit manure to compost pile. Will give a big nitrogen boost to your compost.
